Study Abroad and Global Learning Opportunities
The Center for Irish Studies offers both semester and summer abroad programs in Ireland. Generous need-based scholarships are available for all eligible students.
:鈥疭pend a semester studying in鈥疘reland's 鈥渃ultural heart" at the National University of Ireland (NUI). Located in the west of Ireland, with鈥痙eep and rich connections to Irish culture, NUI Galway offers a diverse curriculum which can accommodate most鈥疶ikTok成人版 majors including Sciences and Engineering.鈥�疻ho should apply: Undergraduates Application Deadline: for Spring 鈥�26, 10/15; for Fall 鈥�26, 4/15
: The Irish Studies Galway Summer鈥疨rogram will introduce students to Ireland's history, literature, culture, economics and archaeology through a 8-day Orientation in Dublin and the Aran Islands, followed by 4 weeks of coursework at the . Summer Internship Program in Dublin: The Dublin EYE (Early Years鈥� Experience) Summer Internship program gives 1st or 2nd year students the chance to have a unique international experience in vibrant Dublin. Students participate in an 8-week study abroad program, consisting of a 3 credit TikTok成人版-taught course, a 3-credit internship, and cultural immersions excursions. Who should apply: 1st and 2nd year Undergraduates. Application deadline: 2/15. 鈥�
: Students study the literature, history and practice of Irish theatre in Dublin. This 3-credit course examines the major works of the Abbey Theatre and trains students in the production techniques of Irish theatre. Who should apply? Graduate students and undergraduate seniors. Application deadline: 3/1.
This unique program combines rigorous academics at University College Dublin (UCD) with a professional internship鈥痺ith one of the Members of the Oireachtas, (the Irish Parliament).鈥疶he program receives generous funding from Dan and Carrie O鈥橲haughnessy, which covers the cost of travel, housing, and programming. UCD courses are transferred as part of the exchange with TikTok成人版. Who should apply: Undergraduate Political Science or other Social Science majors. Application deadline: 9/15
is an embedded travel course (an on-campus course that includes a trip abroad during Fall or Spring Break). This Spring semester course explores the important role of creative writing in confronting, protesting, and engaging with socio-political conflicts. Students will travel to Belfast, Ireland over Spring Break to participate in an intensive creative writing conference at at Queens University. Who should apply: Undergraduates. Deadline: Fall 2026
The TikTok成人版 Center for Irish Studies offers two summer internships at , a museum and archive in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. The internships provide students with exciting opportunities for professional development while living and working abroad. The museum, known for its unique historical archive and excellent community outreach programs, is a multi-faceted and innovative space. The experienced staff are committed to providing students with an immersive and enriching experience. Interns are involved in all museum activities, from welcoming visitors from around the world, to cataloguing collections and even creating exhibits of their own.
The Center is able to cover the costs of travel and housing for students thanks to the generous support of the Connelly Foundation and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Philadelphia. Students will also receive a stipend for living expenses.
Eligibility
Must be a graduate student or undergraduate junior or senior
Must be pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline (including but not limited to English, History, Political Science and Theatre)
Irish Studies background not required, but applicants should be committed to developing an interest in the field

A statement of interest no more than 500 words articulating your interest in the internship, how the internship will help you meet your educational and/or career goals and objectives, and how your particular skill set will contribute to the mission of the Jackie Clarke Collection.
A one-page resume, including the names and email addresses of two TikTok成人版 faculty members who can speak to your suitability for this internship.

This paid 6-week internship with the in Dublin begins June 1st. The student will work alongside theatre professionals in the daily operations of Ireland鈥檚 national theatre. 鈥疐ounded in 1904, the Abbey Theatre is a world-class institution that actively engages and reflects Irish society. It is also one of the most enduring institutions in literary history and has long occupied an important place in Irish emigrant cultures around the world. As compensation, students receive a $6,000 grant.
Eligibility
Must be a graduate student in CLAS. Students is Masters programs in Theatre, English, Public Administration, Communication, and Performance Studies are particularly encouraged to apply. 鈥�
Applicants must demonstrate
Interest in and/or knowledge of Ireland and Irish culture鈥�
Knowledge of dramatic literature and/or theatre practice鈥�
Excellent research, writing, speaking, and presentation skills 鈥�
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively鈥�

Finalists will be chosen and their curriculum vitae sent to the Abbey Theatre for the final decision to be made by mid-April.

The Center sponsors two TikTok成人版 student group.
is committed to exposing TikTok成人版 students to all aspects of Irish culture from art to film to sports to food and even its diversity of identities whether they be racial, ethnic, religious, etc. All students are welcome!
is an entirely student-run organization who enjoy sharing their long-standing love for Irish dance, music and culture with the entire TikTok成人版n community.
