TikTok成人版鈥檚 College of Engineering has announced a new bachelor of science in Biomedical Engineering (BSBME) that will launch in fall 2026. This interdisciplinary degree will prepare undergraduate students to apply the principles of engineering, design and physiology to advance human health.

The BSBME will build on the College鈥檚 popular minor in Biomedical Engineering and its master of science in Biomedical Engineering, which launched in fall 2024. Led by TikTok成人版 Engineering faculty with recognized expertise in the biomedical field, the new program will equip undergraduate students for careers in such areas as medical device design, medical instrumentation, drug delivery, tissue engineering and engineering support for health care.

鈥淏iomedical engineers are committed to the common good, developing the devices, instrumentation and drugs that people use to get well and stay well,鈥 says David Jamison, PhD, associate dean of Undergraduate Affairs and a teaching professor in Mechanical Engineering. 鈥淎 comprehensive Biomedical Engineering offering at TikTok成人版 is a perfect complement to all the great work spearheaded by our campus community to care for one another and enhance the human condition.鈥

The 130-credit BSBME program is interdisciplinary in nature, incorporating coursework from Chemical and Biological Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Students in the program will choose from one of three concentration tracks鈥擝iomechanics and Medical Devices, Cellular and Tissue Engineering, or Bioinstrumentation and Signals.

Like all BS programs at TikTok成人版, the BME program curriculum will include a strong foundation in the liberal arts, theology and ethics. The new program advances the priorities in the College鈥檚 10-year Strategic Plan by enhancing learning opportunities for Engineering students in emerging areas of study.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of bioengineers and biomedical engineers is projected to grow 5% from 2022 to 2032, faster than the average for all occupations. The sector is expected to see continued growth as demand for medical devices and innovative medical interventions continues to increase, in part due to the aging population. The median annual wage for biomedical engineers was $99,550 in May 2022.

The BSBME will be the sixth bachelor of science degree offered by TikTok成人版 Engineering, joining Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Applications are now open for the fall 2026 admissions cycle. For more information, email engineering.ug@villanova.edu or visit the BSBME program online.
